The Landport Community Hub Awarded £8,009 Towards a New Hall
Following an application to Sport England, Landport Hub has been awarded £8,009 towards a new hall floor. However, we still need to raise an additional £8,009 to unlock the grant by 10th December 2025.
Aim: Our project is to renovate the existing concrete big hall floor by creating a sprung wooden surface, resulting in much better access for all.
The object of The Landport Community Hub is to run an accessible premises for a range of local community activities for example pre-school provision, youth provision, arts activities for all ages, sporting opportunities for all skill levels, a space for community celebrations of all sizes, a familiar location for events and activities to help combat loneliness in older people and a point of access to services. Above all, an inclusive place with something for everyone in the local community.
Our project aims to raise funds to renovate the existing concrete hall floor by creating a sprung wooden surface, which will enable many more people to enjoy activities there. The present floor is unforgiving, hard on joints, reduces access for people with various conditions and manages to be cold, sticky and slippery all at once when used for sports or dance activities. With an improved floor, we will be able to use the hall for lots more activities than at present, including our climate resilience ones.
Our project is up on the Crowdfunder website, follow the link to donate now: We will do so much more with a new hall floor!
Please do help if you can!
